VERY EXCITED to announce that we were granted an extension on the special
room rate deadline for the conference! The initial deadline to reserve a room
at the Paragon Casino and Resort in Marksville, Louisiana for the Fall
Conference was TODAY! We were able to
secure an extension through October 29 for the special room rate. If you
think you might attend, please contact the hotel and make your reservation
now. You have until November 9 to cancel without penalty!!! " RSVP above so WE

I am EQUALLY AS EXCITED to announce that we have chosen
our Communication and Leadership Award Recipient! This award will be
presented on Saturday, November 12, during our special Hall of Fame Luncheon.
This event will focus on the educational achievements of our members - both
in the communication and leadership tracks in the Toastmasters program. Our Communication and Leadership Award is offered
to people in the community who are not members of Toastmasters but who uphold
the ideals and core values on which Toastmasters is built. We are excited to
ask you to be the recipient of this year's award and for you to present a 15
minute keynote address at the luncheon related to Communication and
Leadership and why these tools are so valuable in our lives both personally
and professionally. I think when you "review
the bio that is attached for Mr. Lonnie Bridges", you will understand why we
chose him. I think after you hear his keynote address at the luncheon, you
will understand even more!!! |

you! For our Up and At Them meeting on Sunday Nov. 13th, 2011,
following our fantastic weekend at conference, you have the opportunity to earn
the title of Tall Teller of Tales and beat the socks off of Bobby Donlon! He
is hard to beat, I don't know where he gets the material for his
speeches! If you are timid or a
behind-the-scenes kind-of-person, you may remain anonymous and serve as a judge.
If you prefer not to lie, ahem..., you can serve as Chief Judge or Contest
Chair. Please let me know which you
would like to do. Remember, this happens Sunday morning when your peers are
groggy and not in formal wear. Anna
